Sunnah 65: Recite ayat al-kursi after every obligatory prayer

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

The Prophet (pbuh) said: “Whomever recites Ayat al-Kursi after each prayer, will enter Paradise straight away after death.” [Nisa’i & others]

There are many virtues of ayat al-kursi and it has been described by the Prophet (pbuh) as “the greatest verse” in the Qur’an [Muslim, Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi]. We have been told to recite it at various times in the day, and this will be the topic of upcoming sunnahs inshAllah. However, what we must try to do is not just to recite with our tongues, but ponder over why this aya is the greatest. Allah says in the Qur’an, “Are those who know equal to those who do not know?” [Surat Az-Zumar, 39:9]
