Sunnah 50: Du’a when leaving the home

June 9, 2010

When the Prophet (pbuh) would leave his home, he would say:

Bismillah, tawakaltu ‘ala Allah. Allahumma innee a’oothu bika an adhil aw udhal, aw azil aw uzal, aw adhlim aw udhlam, aw ajhal aw yujhal ‘alayy

‘In the name of Allah, I place my trust in Allah. O Allah, I take refuge with You lest I should stray or be led astray, or slip or be tripped, or oppress or be oppressed, or behave foolishly or be treated foolishly.’ [Abu Dawud & Tirmidhi]
