Sunnah 7: What to do when angry

April 22, 2010

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

The Prophet (pbuh) said:

“If any of you becomes angry, let him keep silent.” [Agreed upon]

The sunnah of the beloved to Prophet (pbuh) was never to react rashly. He even that a judge should not judge between two people if he was in an angry mood. Thus, if we find ourselves angry today, let us try to keep silent and think the situation through. The Prophet (pbuh) also told us: “The person with anger should say : ‘I seek refuge in God from the accursed devil’.” [Bukhari]
